ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Auckland baseball offers two distinct competition levels designed to accommodate players of all abilities and competitive aspirations.

PREMS BASEBALL represents the elite level of club baseball in Auckland, featuring New Zealand’s top players alongside international talent. This competition attracts players seeking the highest level of club baseball available in the country.

DIVISIONAL BASEBALL operates across three grades, providing competitive baseball in a social environment. With 18 teams currently participating, Divisional offers opportunities for players ranging from beginners to experienced competitors who prefer a more relaxed atmosphere.


COMPETITION STRUCTURE

Season Format

  • Duration: November 2025 through March 2026
  • Regular Season: 16 games for all levels
  • Break: 4-6 week Christmas/New Year break
  • Playoffs: Post-season competition for both Prems and Divisional

PLAYER DEMOGRAPHICS & SKILL LEVELS

Age Ranges

  • Prems: Ages 16-30s (with some exceptions)
  • Divisional: Ages 20s-50s

Skill Requirements

Prems: High skill level expected. Players typically have extensive baseball experience and compete at an elite club level.

Divisional: All skill levels welcome. New players are assessed and placed in appropriate grades. Many successful players have started as complete beginners.
